On Friday 1st September Machars Young Farmers presented representatives from Wigtown Food Festival and Wigtown Community Festival with their respective cheques from money raised at their Charity Coffee Afternoon on Saturday 22nd July during Wigtown Riding of the Marches. Each charity was presented £100 which the club hopes both organisations will find helpful.
Later that evening Andrew Mckay and his family hosted Machars Young Farmers Annual Dairy Stockjuding. A great night was had by all with over 165 competing. Our judge for the evening was Mr Graham Morton who made a fine job. A big thank you to Carolines Catering, Select Bars and Jean McKay and Susie Mckay for keeping everyone well fed and watered throughout the event. Moreover, a huge thank you must go to all the sponsors for the evening: Genus plc, NMR, Quest, R G Contracting, Semex UK, Tarff Valley, Galloway and Macleod, Alistair Kirkwood, Priory Vet Centre and Watson Seeds.
