The Buccleuch and Queensberry Arms has been completely refurbished and is having a launch weekend 21st – 23rd of March 2014.
Over the weekend there will be music, wine tasting and charity darts match.
The refurbished hotel incorporates the highest quality of 21st century amenities and brings a refreshing new face of hospitality to the area. It is designed to be a home away from home, offering warm, unobtrusive service, with a friendly atmosphere. The heritage of the building has been preserved, as can be seen in the back bar and function room which have been used by locals since the hotel opened in 1850.
“It’s about being a successful commercial business but at the same time being friendly, warm, welcoming and inviting. We are very excited about the official launch on 21st March and honored to have the Duke of Buccleuch formally opening the hotel for us” says Arthur Sweerts de Landas, Hotel Manager.
The Sweerts de Landas family were drawn to the area 12 years ago and now aim to inform the unacquainted of the beauty and charm of the area, as well as the hotel remaining the centre of the community for the local people.
The hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the region and engage in a wide range of outdoor pursuits and culture – Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries House are within easy driving distance. The county boasts stunning coastlines, extensive forests, beautiful rivers and rugged hills.
The main hotel has 10 individually designed bedrooms and 2 stunning cottage bedrooms with disabled access. There are meeting and function rooms, making the hotel a perfect venue for weddings, executive meetings or any event for business or pleasure
