Dumfries and Galloway Gets Set to Celebrate Book Week 2017

Dumfries and Galloway Council is holding a variety of events to celebrate Book Week Scotland 2017 [27 November to 3 December], featuring books, chocolate, gin, and tea parties.

A national celebration of books and reading, Book Week Scotland brings hundreds of free events to a variety of venues across the country.

The 2017 theme is Nourish and the week will celebrate how books and reading feed the life of our communities.

The 2017 events programme is a literary box of delights with something for everyone to enjoy, including virtual events and online games.

Every branch library will host special storytime visits throughout the week for primary and nursery children to enjoy and vote for their favourite book shortlisted in the Bookbug Picture Book Prize.

Events include:

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party: a free family event for all ages, including a reading from Alice in Wonderland, fancy dress [optional], chocolate tasting, games, and prizes.
