The Thornhill Music Festival Team had the first tasting today of the specially commissioned music festival ale THORNFEST ALE brewed by Sulwath Brewery in Castle Douglas . The Ale will be on sale all over the village before , during and after the festival .
DGWGO Interview Iain Renicks , one of the team from the festival and he told us the story behind the new Brew . ” It was the brainchild of John Holroyd who is on the Festival committee he is a real ale buff ! We approached Allen Henderson at Sulwath and asked if it would be possible to have our own Ale for the 2014 festival . We gave Allen some ideas on what kind of brew we thought would go down well at the festival and left the rest to Allen and his team . Its a blonde beer with a nice citrus note and is highly drinkable”
Then we asked our facebook friends to suggest some names , there were some we had to body swerve but we plumped for THORNFEST ALE which says it all . We think its going to be a great ale to accompany some great bands on a cracking weekend in the Town !
