Oasis Star Noel Gallagher To Headline ‘Electric Fields’ 2018

Music royalty Noel Gallagher will be headlining Dumfries and Galloways hottest music festival “Electric Fields” as it celebrates it’s 5th birthday in the stunning grounds at  Drumlanrig Castle on August 30th & 31st and 1st September 2018.

A spokes person for the festival told DGWGO Music news this evening “Everyone at Electric Fields is happy to announce the first wave of the 2018 lineup! We’ve pulled together a mighty fine lineup to help us celebrate our 5th birthday and are delighted to be welcoming a collection of some of the most exciting bands and artists from around the world to a pocket of idyllic Scottish countryside.
We’re welcoming three HUGE headliners led by the mighty Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, for what will be one of the most intimate festival shows of Noels career and we can’t wait. Indie legends James (Thursday night headline) will be bringing their back catalogue of anthems, while Leftfield will close the party on Saturday night with whats set to be a truly memorable live set.”
They Continued “Alongside the big guns we have some of the most exciting artists from around Scotland and further afield with the likes of Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers, Teenage Fanclub, Ezra Furman, Shame and a ton more.
As well as an amazing musical line-up, we can also reveal that after a smashing debut last year, Scotland’s finest wordsmiths Neu Reekie! are back to showcase the best in spoken word on their own dedicated stage. To celebrate their fifth birthday in style, EF18 is set to expand its entertainment offering where people can expect to laugh out loud at an extended comedy and cabaret programme. One of Scotland’s most respected venues, Sneaky Pete’s, returns for another year with a curated lineup of groundbreaking electronic music.”

Following on from last years nomination for ‘Best Family Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards, the “Our Kids Electric” area returns bigger and better with a whole host of new entertainment and workshops and of course, the legendary adventure playground is a hop skip and a jump away!

Food lovers can rejoice as Scotland’s best street food purveyors The Pitt will be back to deliver an awesome culinary experience at the festival. There also be specialist cocktails bars and our massive craft and ale bar returns with a wide selection on offer to quench your thirst.
