The popular annual Kirkcudbright Academy half marathon is now in its 36th year, and online entries for the 2018 race are live. The route starts and finishes in the Kirkcudbright Academy Grounds.
After the amazingly hot weather during the 2017 race it has been decided to bring the race timings forward:
Half Marathon + 11km Beeches
Runners leave at 11.00am
Walkers will leave at 9am

New Race Organiser;
After three successful years managing the event, Teacher,Musician and Retained Fire Fighter Michelle McClure has passed the baton to Richard Nash, of the Galloway Harriers.
After moving to Dumfries and Galloway in 2013 Richard took on the directorship of the ‘Roon the Watter’ 6 mile event, using all his experience and U.K.A. Official qualification to implement safer practises to ensure the success and longevity of not only that event, but now the K.A.H.M.
He has participated in several London marathons, Chaired County Athletics Associations, and when he heard the Kirkcudbright race was without an organiser, boldly stepped forward.
Kirkcudbright Academy raises money every year from the races to finance Activities Week, which enables all students to participate in a range of curricular and extra-curricular events. Your support is needed now more than ever. We look forward to seeing you there.
