Just a few miles up the road from Dumfries and Galloway – Glasgow’s Fiesta x FOLD Festival are thrilled to announce that that UK electropop icons Goldfrapp will be joining Nile Rodgers & CHIC as his special guests at this year’s festival, performing on day two of the event on Sunday 1st July. Multiple Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist Nile Rodgers will produce, perform, and host the Fiesta x FOLD Festival.
Goldfrapp have been releasing iridescent, synth laden, intriguing pop since 1999. Their formidable back catalogue spans seven studio albums and has earned them a top 5 album with Supernature, four Grammy nominations and an Ivor Novella Award for their track Strict Machine from the critically acclaimed album Black Cherry.
With electrifying performances that are truly unique and captivating, their sold out BBC 6 Music show at the Glasgow Barrowlands brought the house down. They are the perfect act to send fans wild at Glasgow’s iconic Kelvingrove Park with their unique and captivating blend of electronic music and their legendary live show – expect a spectacle.
Flying in the face of the male dominated status quo, Nile has pulled together a powerful female lineup for the Sunday. Nile Rodgers commented “I’ve always had strong women in my band and so soon after International Women’s Day I’m proud to announce Goldfrapp as our special guest to a line-up that already includes the power of the wonderful Emeli Sandé, Laura Mvula and Morcheeba.”
A wide range of tickets for the event are on sale now, including VIP and Family tickets. The event has also announced a ‘pay up scheme’ allowing music fans the opportunity to split the cost of their tickets over two instalments.
