Hope and Social Bring Their Unique Performance to Dumfries Night Spot

Hope and Social make their Dumfries debut at The Venue this Friday May 18th.

Described as “one of the UK’s top five live bands” (The Independent), Hope and Social are renowned for the unique and energetic ways they include and involve an audience at their shows, and this show is no exception.

The band, described as a ‘peoples band’ who were remembered at Glastonbury for handing out 2,500 kazoos to the audience, were originally booked to perform at Big Burns Supper Festival earlier this year, but due to adverse weather conditions, the show had to be postponed to a later date.

Hope and Social, told DGWGO entertainment news

‘’It’s a big show, there’s a lot of us, and we’re a raucous, rambunctious rabble at the best of times. There’ll be some big sounds, some intimate moments. There’ll be laughs too. We’re serious about our art, but try not to take ourselves too seriously.

‘’We can’t wait to come to The Venue to make the lovely noise, get people dancing, make ‘em sing, laugh, run on the spot… maybe even cry a bit, happy tears mind!”

The Yorkshire based group were beamed live to the 300,000,000 TVs across the world for their exhilarating opening ceremony performance of the 2014 Tour De France at Leeds Arena, where they invited 180 other musicians to perform alongside them. They lost one Facebook follower.

Regarded as ‘rousing and joyous’ by The Guardian, Dumfries audiences are encouraged to book tickets in advance for this unique live experience, taking place Friday 18th May at 8pm

Tickets to this event can be bought online HERE and young people aged 14+ and who are accompanied by an adult, can attend.
