Fifteen year old Brandon Barrett from Dumfries has claimed the trophy for Scottish Young Magician of the Year at a prestigious event in Glasgow.
In the running against impressive competition, young talent from all over Scotland, the judges announced Brandon’s magical ability and style as this year’s best.
Brandon discovered magic four years ago after being given a magic kit as a Christmas gift. It was the start of something that now takes up every hour of his spare time as he balances school studies with the many events he provides entertainment at for a range of audiences at events across Scotland.
Speaking about his recent success Brandon said:
“I still find it hard to believe that a magic kit for a Christmas gift has had such a big effect on my life and lead to so many opportunities. I am actually quite blown away that I’ve won Scottish Young Magician of the Year.”
In the last year Brandon has various achievements to be proud of; a debut solo show at GICF (Glasgow International Comedy festival) in which he performed three shows, as well as many smaller well supported festivals including the Big Burns Supper.
What’s next? Brandon is very excited to announce a two week run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His show “Brain Access” includes Brandon’s unique style of witty comedy, amazing magic and fun filled audience participation.
