Don’t Miss The Guild of Players Showcase at The Theatre Royal Dumfries

Join us as we preview our 2018-19 season of murder mysteries, a musical and our pantomime

This Friday, 31st August, The Guild of Players present a Showcase evening, highlighting
their upcoming season. The Junior Guild will perform an excerpt from their upcoming
production Oh! What A Lovely War, as they get ready to Pack Up Your Troubles in this
musical, as we mark 100 years since the end of World War I. The Guild will then perform
excerpts from Snake In The Grass, A Spot of Murder and Dead Guilty.

The Showcase is free to attend, but please do get your tickets from Midsteeple Box Office or online.

Snake In The Grass by Alan Ayckbourn tells the story of Annabel Chester who returns home to her sister after the death of their abusive father, only to be confronted by a blackmail plot, which quickly escalates out of hand with grim consequences. Can you work out what is going on before the end of the play?

In the richly comic, murder mystery play A Spot of Murder by Geoff Bamber, Corrina
Marcham, a fading starlet, has retired to the country to write her kiss & tell memoirs but
murder is on the horizon.

We then move onto Dead Guilty, a tense psychological study of guilt and obsession,
finishing with an excerpt from the 2018 pantomime, Red Riding Hood, written by Guild
member Chris Belford.

The Theatre is offering a Guild of Players 2018-19 Season Ticket offer if you buy your
tickets for Snake in the Grass, A Spot of Murder and Dead Guilty in one transaction you will
receive £2 off per ticket.

All shows start at 7.30pm and tickets are available to purchase from the theatre, via the
