The Old Well Theatre in Moffat has an affinity with comedy. The theatre bar, Danny’s Bar, is named after Danny Bhoy the celebrated Scottish comedian who first trod the boards as a young lad with the Upper Annandale Dramatic society in Moffat. Danni Chaudhry – Danny Bhoy – was born in Moffat.
Rob Crosbie is the compere for the comedy evening. He is the innovator behind Raw Guffaw Comedy in Dumfries which has been running now for six years. He recently supported Bill Bailey at the Big Burns Supper. Rob has a laid back and entertaining style, with wit and charm, and he likes to explore the quirkiness of life.
Hal Branson is the opening act of the night. Hal is a natural and affable man, his story telling as heart warming as his wordplay.
Brandon Barrett, the winner of this year’s Scottish Young Magician of the Year, is the middle act on the bill. Brandon blends the wizardry skills of Harry Potter and the looks of Sue Perkins. This young man has developed a unique style of magic mixed with witty banter, comedy and mind reading!
Joby Mageean is the headline act. Joby is now firmly established as one of the most popular names in the North East of England comedy scene.. Joby’s has an act which ranges from beautifully written gags, to songs, to stories that weave in big laughs. He is a wonderfully jovial and welcoming host.
