Dumfries and Galloway Council [28 March 2019] will consider a summary and evaluation of the Year of Young People 2018.
The Year of Young People celebrated and showcased the personalities, talents and achievements of young people in Dumfries and Galloway.
The report will also outline the year’s legacy plans to ensure that the year was a catalyst for ongoing work.
Councillor Elaine Murray, Council Leader, said: “The Year of Young People was a hugely exciting opportunity for our area to deliver an innovative and dynamic programme of events, activities and projects for our region’s young people to showcase themselves and our youth work. It was an outstanding success.”
Councillor Rob Davidson, Depute Leader, said: “The Year of Young People aimed to inspire Scotland through its young people, celebrating their achievements, valuing their contribution to communities and creating new opportunities for them. From our experience in Dumfries and Galloway, we can conclude that it’s aims were achieved.”
