Nunholm welcomed Cambusdoon on Saturday and after a dominant batting display ran out comfortable winners by 77 runs.

Cambusdoon won the toss and elected to bowl first, which must have felt like a lifetime in the Easter sunshine as opening batters Andrew Dawson and Adam Malik dominated the bowling for the majority of the first innings. A composed start by the openers meant that they were in fine form scoring regular boundaries and picking up regular singles. Andrew Dawson was the first to reach his 50, and was closely followed by Adam Malik, however neither batsmen were finished there. It was Dawson who fell first for an excellent 92 with the score at 182, this did not lead to a collapse at David Davidson entered the fray with a quick fire 28. Adam Malik had anchored the innings and was looking set for his maiden century, but unfortunately the Cambusdoon fielders closed in and in the final over Adam tried to find the gap but was caught by Jefferson for an excellent 99. Nunholm finished with an imposing 261 for 3.
Nunholm entered the field with the match ball sponsored by Silver Ferns Horticultural Services. Cambusdoon were chasing a large total and they got off to a bad start when Jefferson pulled the ball from Stuart Alexander straight into the hands of Jeremy Goodin for what has to be a catch of the season already. Stuart Alexander got another wicket in the over removing Bhandari with score just at 17. Nunholm were made to work for the Cambusdoon wickets, but a controlled effort in the field meant the run rate for the opposition continued to rise and batsmen were feeling the pressure of a tight bowling attack. A change of bowling pace meant the Cambusdoon players were having to make extra efforts to try and get runs. Wickets began to fall at regular periods with Jacob Taylor (2), Davidson (1),Crhistopher McCutcheon (1) and Callum Reynolds-Lewis(1) contributing. It was Jeremy Goodin who cleaned up the tailed with his leg spin, picking up the remaining 3 wickets.
A good start to the league campaign from Nunholm who sit at the top of the table, for at least a week anyway.
