LOCAL COUNCILLOR PLEASED WITH PLAY PARK IMPROVEMENTS

Annandale North Councillor Graeme Tait has been successful in securing a number of improvements to Park Place Play Park in Lockerbie.

The local councillor successfully urged the council to install a new basket swing after it was brought to his attention that the previous swing had been removed almost two years ago yet it was never replaced. The council also agreed to his request for new bark to be placed under the basket swing at Park Place. The park see- saw has also been inspected after residents complained that it was no longer working properly.

Councillor Tait said:

“This is a positive outcome. I wanted to ensure that the park has suitable swings for young children. I am disappointed that it has been without a basket swing for so long but this is now being addressed by the council. I also welcome the fact that the council has agreed to top up the bark under the swing as it is an important safety feature as well as helping avoid the park just becoming a mud bath. Park Place Park is a great park for local families and it is important that we look after it.”
