TWO months of town centre free family-orientated activities officially kick off next weekend when the annual In Our Town programme gets under way.
And, as a preview to the fun-filled days of entertainment hitting Dumfries until September, Todd Various of the highly-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe troupe, Let’s Circus, takes to the town’s High Street tomorrow (Saturday) to entertain the crowds.
Taking place between July 18 and September 14, and funded by the council, In Our Town is a lively programme of events geared towards bringing footfall into the town centre, providing entertainment for shoppers and retailers and benefitting businesses.
Co-ordinated by the Emerge Agency, the programme includes circus performances, climbing walls, hot air balloons, workshops and music, as well as some great star attractions, all taking place at the Plainstanes next to the Midsteeple; Dock Park; and The Whitesands.
Todd Various will perform in the High Street at 1pm and 3pm.
On Sunday, adults and kids can test their skills, as well as their nerves, on the climbing wall, also in the High Street, between noon and 5pm.
