An updated FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway.
River levels are expected to rise throughout the region on Tuesday due to heavy rain throughout the day, and will remain high into Wednesday. Surface water flooding may also occur during Tuesday. Localised flooding affecting low-lying land, roads and isolated properties, and disruption to travel, is possible. In particular, some locations along the River Nith and River Esk may be affected. In addition, some coastal impacts including some wave overtopping may occur to exposed coastlines due to a combination of high tide, storm suge and strong winds.
Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.
