The Met Office have issued an update weatherv warning (Yellow) as a band of rain, sleet and snow will become slow moving across parts of southern Scotland and northern England during Thursday morning. 3-8 cm of snow is most likely to accumulate above 250 metres, but possibly as low as 100 metres in parts of south-west Scotland.
Snow may cause some travel disruption during Thursday morning.
What to expect
• Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers
• Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel
• Some rural communities could become cut off
• Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
