As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will deliver £180k of trunk road improvements on the A76 Sanquhar North Gateway.
In order to reduce disruption for commuters and businesses, we will be able to complete this essential resurfacing programme using an overnight convoy system. The convoy will be in place each night from Friday the 13th to Tuesday the 17th of March.
Nicolas Fauvergue, Scotland TranServ’s design lead on the project said:
“Scotland TranServ has been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully programme these essential works. The project will be carried out overnights, significantly reducing the impact on the Sanquhar community. Traffic management will also only be implemented once vehicle movements are sufficiently low in the area.
“The resurfacing of the Sanquhar North Gateway is part of a trio of such projects, delivered on behalf of Transport Scotland, improving around 4.3kilometres of the A76. We would like to thank the local community for their patience while these essential long-term trunk road improvements are delivered.”
To deliver these essential road surface improvements, Scotland TranServ will implement overnight convoy traffic management of the A76 trunk road in this area during the following times:
- 8pm on Friday 13th until 6am on Saturday 14th of March
- 8pm on Saturday 14th until 6am on Sunday 15th of March
- 8pm on Sunday 15th until 6am on Monday 16th of March
- 8pm on Monday 16th until 6am on Tuesday 17th of March
Road markings will be completed during the day on Tuesday 17th of March. Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys. Live trunk road information is available by following @trafficscotland on Twitter or by visiting trafficscotland.org.
