Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Tuesday 2nd June 2020 had forward 582 prime and cast sheep.
451 lambs sold to average 240.14 (SQQ 241.04).
A nice show of lambs were forward with best shaped lambs easily sold topping at 282.1 for Texels from West Barmoffity, Kirkpatrick Durham, with the best bred lambs 260+ per kilo. First cross lambs out of Mules were generally 230 to 240 ppk depending on finish, and were easily sold. Heavyweights sold to £113 for Beltex from Corra, Castle Douglas.
A small show of hoggs sold to £2ppk od £88 for Texels from Auchenvey, Corsock.
Cast sheep were readily sold but overfat Mules did look less, with lean Mules selling over £70. Top today was £127 for Texel rams from Grange, Castle Douglas with Blackface to £58.50 from Castlehill.
