In an unprecedented collaboration, Youtube sensation The Hoof GP and Curly Tale Books bring you the true story of Gracie – a Galloway dairy cow. With watercolour illustrations showcasing the beautiful scenery of Galloway, and a gentle rhyming story, Saving Gracie is suitable for children age 2-5.
Graeme Parker – the Hoof GP – has a quarter of a million followers on Youtube, who love to see him fixing cows’ hooves all over Dumfries and Galloway.
Gracie, or Cow 812, captured their imagination and it gave Graeme the idea of producing a children’s book telling her story. His young boys love the farming tales of local publisher Curly Tale Books and so Graeme approached them with the idea. Inspired, author & illustrator Shalla Gray wrote and painted the book in record time during lockdown (with some help from local children who made Gracie Get Well Soon cards which feature in the book).
The finished book will be available from the 30th of June 2020.
