Police Probe Spate Of Trailer Thefts – Stranraer

POLICE SCOTLAND are appealing for information following a spate of thefts in Stranraer. Three incidents relating to the theft of trailers have been reported to officers within the last 10 days in the area.

A Plice spokesperson stated “The first incident happened between 2pm on Friday, 19 June, 2020 and 6pm on Saturday, 20 June in Blackparks Industrial Estate where a 10ft trailer with five doors was stolen. The registration for this is S06JNS.
A second incident involving a metal trailer with number plate ‘M735HWO’ was stolen around 6pm on Wednesday, 24 June from Long Stay car park in Agnew Crescent.

A third theft occurred overnight between Thursday, 25 June and Friday, 26 June from The Garage on Main Street, Stoneykirk. The trailer is described as having a wooden bed with number plate ‘PN02FHU’

All of the above trailers would have required to be have been towed by a vehicle with a tow bar fitted. The value of the stolen trailers is in excess of £5000.”

Detective Sergeant Garry Mitchell, of Stranraer CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in or around the locations of these thefts or noticed any of the trailers on public roads.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 3478 of 24 June.”
