It’s back! Yes you have read that correctly. After teasing the news on social media, Bernard Matthews Foods Ltd has confirmed that a healthier version of corkscrew shaped family favourites from the 1990’s are making a return to the dinner table from next month.
Turkey Twizzlers were a school dinner favourite in the 1990’s but in 2005 Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver launched a ‘Healthier School Meals’ campaign which made them unpopular and they were no longer produced by Bernard Mathews.
A Spokesperson for Bernard Mathews Foods Ltd Stated “Since 2005, thousands have called for the nation’s most missed dinner time staple to be brought back. Now, after 15 years, the iconic Turkey Twizzler is making its comeback; healthier and tastier than ever before.
To celebrate the comeback of the century, a giant Turkey Twizzler arrived in its hometown of Norwich at Great Witchingham Hall, where its legacy began. The statue will be doing a tour of the UK – check out our Instagram to see the latest!”
The new & improved Twizzler is now available in Iceland and all other major retailers in September.”
