Dumfries and Galloway College has been shortlisted for two prestigious environmental awards.
The South of Scotland college has been nominated for awards for the Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland 2020 in the ‘Sustainability Institution of the Year’ and
‘Next Generation Learning and Skills’ categories.
The shortlistings are in recognition of the college’s ‘D&G – A green region’ project.
The categories recognise the contribution that nominees have made to keeping their areas green, clean, and beautiful while also developing innovative ways to address the challenges they face.
Dumfries and Galloway College, and the other finalists, will find out the results at the awards ceremony due to be held in March/April 2021.
Established in 2004, the Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives undertaken by universities and colleges.
The awards are administered by The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education and each region is governed by a local cross agency steering group that makes area specific decisions.
Dumfries and Galloway College is committed to promoting environmental issues in the South of Scotland and being a leader in sustainability and renewables across the country.
