Beginning on 30th October and running right up until the 23rd December, D&G Virtual Christmas Market is a Facebook group designed to encourage people to shop small and local this festive season, even if they aren’t wanting to go out much.
With many Christmas fayres and regular markets either being cancelled or footfall being down, this online marketplace is for small businesses who rely on these events to advertise their wares and services on the lead up to Christmas.
There are a number of similar virtual fayres and markets popping up on Facebook at the moment, but many are charging an admin fee for virtual stalls and cover a large area of the UK. However, this event is totally free and open to a wide range of solely local businesses. Prior to opening our virtual doors we already had 14 vendors ready and waiting to advertise, as well as many potential customers. However, we will continue to accept new vendors right through the season with limitations on the number of similar businesses or representatives from MLM companies. Current vendors include; Murley Glass, Unabridged Art, The Isle of Books, Wee Messy Crafters, Angelfire Crafts, The Paper Karver, Sparkle Every Day, Willow Tree Photography, Forever Slates, Tropic Skincare with Tracey, The Galloway Fudge Comany, Mo’s Crafts, Stitch & Scents, Who’s Got the Munchies? and Shabby & Pretty. All vendors are based in Dumfries and Galloway!
