The festival runs from Friday the 15th of August to Sunday the 17th with a wide variety of musical acts from both near & far…festival organizer Tim O’Sullivan is delighted that such a legendary musician is playing…”Joe’s manager, Martin, approached us about Joe playing here with his current band, Finger Halo, as he had been won over to the charms of Moniaive and it’s buzzing music scene”.
…AND GUESS WHAT…ALL THIS MUSIC IS FREE!
Venue Address: The Craigdarroch Arms Hotel, High Street, Moniaive, Thornhill, Dumfries And Galloway DG3 4HN
Friday 15th August is headlined by the one & only Junkman’s Choir, who hail from Ayrshire with members formerly in Dub Skelper & Nyah Fearties:
Junkman’s Choir are a two-man-band with a global sound; playing a mix of Cajun, country, sea shanties, rock ‘n’ reel and spinning some twists and turns on the works of Rabbie Burns. The sound of electro-accordion, pocket trumpet, guitar and vocals, is as unique as it is infectious. Don’t miss them stomping out their steel-toed rhythm.
They have supported a wide range of bands from The Pogues to Ocean Colour Scene…after the latter’s manager saw them busking in London & liked them so much!
Support on Friday comes from The Hoolits who play country-punk, with a rockabilly skiffle beat…the band formed from members of Junkman’s Choir and The Amphetameanies. Friday night kicks off at 8pm.
Support on Saturday is from the 18 – legged ska beast that is The Amphetameanies….bringing you their brand of infectious 2-Tone & punk inspired songs to entice you to don your pork pie hat and get skanking! Saturday is an all-day event.
