Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown gave his backing to the fantastic work of Bobath Scotland when he led cyclists on the annual Bike for Bobath Dumfries cycle challenge at the weekend (Saturday 16 August).
The event is organised by the Bryson family, whose late son Andrew and many other children in the area have benefited from therapy at Bobath Scotland. Now in its 17th year the challenge has raised over £25,000 to date for Bobath Scotland.
The cycle is a scenic 13.8 mile circular route through Bankend and Glencaple, which starts and finishes at the Crichton. Entry is free and for a minimum sponsorship pledge of £20, each entrant received an event T-shirt, thanks to the support of Highland Fuels Ltd.
Russell Brown has taken part in the event now for over ten years. He said, “Bobath Scotland do a fantastic job improving the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy, including many here in Dumfries and Galloway. That’s why I am always delighted to support their excellent work by taking part in the annual Bike for Bobath challenge in Dumfries. I want to congratulate everyone involved from the organisers to those who took part in the challenge, many for the first time this year”.
