Last night on social media the organisers behind Stewartry Agricultural Show Announced that the 2021 event that was due to happen on the first Thursday in August would be cancelled for the second year running. This also follows the cancelation of both Dumfries and Wigtown Agricultural shows.
Sam Hutton Chair of Stewartry Agricultural Show stated “In line with other local and national Agricultural events, after a recent committee meeting, we the Stewartry Agricultural Society are saddened to announce we will not be holding a show in 2021. At this time there are too many unknown factors surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic to allow the committee to plan with confidence an event in early August. We look forward to welcoming everyone to a show in 2022.

Wigtown Show announced – 2021 Cancelled
It is with deep regret, and after great consideration that the Directors of Wigtown Agricultural Society have made the decision to cancel the 2021 Wigtown Show on Wednesday 4th August.
This decision has not been taken lightly but due to planning such an event, uncertainty on restrictions on large gatherings, measures that may be in place, social distancing, vaccine status, impact of any new Covid-19 variants and on public health and safety the decision had to be made.
We realise this will be very disappointing for so many people and businesses, however we hope you understand, it is the responsible thing to do, to safeguard everyone’s health and the future of the show.
In 2022 we hope a normal Wigtown Show can go ahead with no restrictions in place.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
