In preparation for the annual call for applications to Bridging the Gap – the UK’s leading short documentary training initiative which has produced many award-winning films, screening in 60 countries to date, Scottish Documentary Institute invite you to meet up and discuss your ideas at the Robert Burns Centre in Dumfries, on September 5th.
The outreach workshop in Dumfries will help you prepare your project for submission to the Bridging the Gap, now coming into its 12th year.

They will be showing examples of past work, explaining the aims of the initiative and how to improve your chances to be short-listed. Please take along an idea for a short documentary and learn how to develop and focus your proposal and pitching skills.
The workshop will be followed by a screening of selected Bridging the Gap short documentaries from previous years.
There are limited spaces available so make sure to book your place early.
