Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Monday 19 July 2021 held their fortnightly sale of 197 OTM and store cattle.
101 Store bullocks sold to £1260 for Limousins from Messrs Taylor, Edingham and to 272.4ppk again for Limousins from Messrs Allison, Ring of Barfad.
43 heifers sold to £1190 for Salers from Dr W J Locke, Park of Tongland and to 255.2ppk for Limousins from Messrs Allison, Ring of Barfad.
51 OTM cows sold to £1719.50 and 187ppk for an Angus cow from Messrs Robb, Trolane with OTM Steers to 209ppk for and Angus from Messrs Armstrong, Langbarns.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Ltd on Tuesday 20th July 2021 had forward 1214 prime and cast sheep
1068 prime lambs were forward to average 260 (SQQ 262.33).
Lambs were on fire and sharper than expected, selling to £126.50 for outstanding Texel lambs from Messrs Smith, Low Arkland, and to 315.3ppk from Messrs Hogan, Maryholm, Dumfries.
Cast sheep sold £147 for Texel ewes from Messrs Armstrong, Farhills, with Mules to £119 from Palmallet and £103 for Blackface from Hannaston.
