A new organization has just been established in the area, Textiles & Embroidery Dumfries or TED. It has grown from what used to be Dumfries & District Embroiderers’ Guild.
TED meets weekly, in Dumfries, on Thursdays from September through to May. There’s a varied Programme of Speakers, Classes & Workshops. In addition, there are Workdays where people bring along something they might be working on and the day is spent stitching, chatting & sharing skills. Anyone with an interest in textiles, embroidery or stitching of any kind is welcome to join. Many of the members are skilled embroiderers and textile artists but others are just beginners and some just want to enjoy the fun of being part of this creative group.
