ANYONE still seeking either a first dose vaccination against COVID-19 or a second dose at least eight weeks after their first is being urged to take up the opportunity.
Cases of COVID-19 still remain high within Dumfries and Galloway, but vaccines are proving very effective in preventing some of the worst effects of the virus.
Vaccination clinics are continuing to run right across the region, and anyone seeking their first dose or looking to schedule their second is urged to phone the local COVID helpline and speak to a local member of staff by phoning 01387 403090 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Anyone getting in touch locally to arrange a first or second vaccine will be provided an appointment in a very timely manner.
As of today, a total of 96 per cent of the region’s population aged 18 plus have taken up the offer of a first dose vaccination, but everyone is encouraged to get both doses in order to receive a high degree of protection against COVID-19.
