Maintenance scheduled to commence on Monday 17th January on the A701 at Locharbriggs Wall has been postponed. A rescheduled date will be announced in due course.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A701 at Locharbriggs Wall from Monday 17th January until 30th April 2022, between the hours of 6am and 8pm, although lane closures will be 24/7.
Works will be carried out to repair a retaining wall currently supported using temporary measures.
The work will be carried out using a continuous (24/7) northbound lane closure of the A701 between Quarry Road and Station Road within Locharbriggs. Three-way temporary traffic signals will be implemented on the A701 northbound and southbound carriageway, as well as Quarry Road itself.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
