Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A75 between Gretna and Annan from Thursday 27th January 2022 to Thursday 3rd February 2022.
This scheme, with a value of £496,000, will benefit around 10,977 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out under a combination of overnight closures and a full weekend closure of the A75 carriageway, as detailed below:
- From 7pm on Thursday 27th January 2022 until 6am on Friday 28th January 2022 – Overnight closure.
- From 6am on Friday 28th January 2022 until 7pm on Friday 28th January 2022 – Single lane closure with Temporary traffic lights.
- From 7pm on Friday 28th January 2022 until 6am on Monday 31st February 2022 Continuous weekend closure.
- From 7pm on Monday 31st February 2022 until 6am on Thursday 3rd February 2022– Overnight closures between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night.
Traffic travelling westbound will be diverted locally from the A75 onto the B721 after Gretna. Vehicles will continue west through the village of Eastriggs towards the roundabout south-east of Annan. At the roundabout, traffic will take the second exit onto the B6357 Stapleton Road. Vehicles will then continue onto the B6357 where the slip road to re-join the A75 is clearly signposted.
Traffic travelling eastbound will follow this diversion in reverse.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
