Stewart Cameron told DGWGO “Dumfries Musical and Operatic Society formed in 1922. The first production was in 1923. So this year is our centenary and we’ve decided to put together, I suppose you could call it a review, a compilation show of excerpts of pieces of music from shows that this company has done over the last hundred years. So we’ve got quite a significant different number of types of shows that we’ve got from Gilbert and Sullivan, from small operetta to Rogers and Hammerstein and more modern shows now that we’re doing as well.”

“We’ve you’ve got a huge selection of songs in this show. Your more modern kind of more funky traditional stuff. You’ve got 9-5 Anything goes. Adam’s family. We’ve got a more traditional stuff as well like your Oklahoma and Hello Dolly. Huge huge mix. A few surprises in there as well but we’re really, really excited for this show.”

Amy McCreadie said “So we are really throwing ourselves into this show with all the dancing. We’re getting our cast involved. We’re getting them some really challenging dances. Some really fun energetic stuff. Some of the more traditional kind of slower dances as well. But we’re really going all out for this special performance.”

Stewart added “Morale is really good. Everybody’s thoroughly enjoying what we’re doing and very enthusiastic about it and it’s really coming on really, really well.”

“So there’s still work to be to polish it all up and get it sparkling for the end of April but it’s really doing well. Really coming on nicely.”

Starting at 7.30pm each night, tickets are on sale from 15th March for a special Centenary Price of £10 each, and available from the Midsteeple Box Office or via TicketSouce: www.ticketsource.co.uk/brigend-theatre
