SCOTTISH businesses have ten days left to apply for a grant which will save them hundreds of pounds to help keep staff, customers and visitors safe from Covid and other viruses.
Owners of SMEs in a range of different sectors across Scotland have until March 11 to apply for up to £2,500 under the Scottish Government’s £25m Business Ventilation Fund.
The Government scheme targets SMEs where people work in close proximity such as offices, restaurants, hairdressers, gyms and many more.
The fund will close to new applications at 5pm on March 11. Approved applications have until 12pm on March 31 to submit their claim for reimbursement.
Melanie Evans, business development manager of Scottish turnkey solutions firm Eco Industry Solutions, said the company is providing extra support to SMEs by offering a further financial incentive for businesses to order and install the equipment before the deadline.
Melanie said: “Making sure our working environments have the correct ventilation to keep staff, customers and visitors safe is in all our interests.
“That’s why at Eco Industry Solutions we want to make things as simple as possible for business owners and we are offering this incentive of a special reduced rate this month so they have a double money-saving reason to get their applications in while the grant scheme is still available.”
To apply for the Government funding, businesses need to:
*be a small or medium-sized enterprise
*be in an eligible sector (The list of eligible sectors can be found at www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-business-ventilation-fund/)
*have physical premises
*pay non-domestic rates
The Scottish Government’s Business Ventilation Fund has been introduced to help businesses improve the air quality and ventilation in their premises, in order to reduce the risk of transmitting Covid-19 and other viruses to help protect staff, customers and visitors.
Eco Industry Solutions is a Scottish-based company, with its headquarters in Annan, which works closely with businesses across the UK and specialises in offering clean air solutions which meet the Government’s criteria. These include carbon dioxide monitors, air quality monitors and air purification units which are highly effective for virus control, and other air pollutants such as pollen.
Businesses can claim up to £2,500 in total from the fund, split between £500 for each air quality monitor, £250 for each air purification monitor, and £200 for each carbon dioxide monitor.
Eco Industry Solutions offers businesses a free, quick, no-obligation phone call to see what solutions best fit individual firms. It is also possible to provide a site visit to assess how current air quality can be improved.
Any business or organisation looking to utilise the Business Ventilation Fund is asked to get in touch with Eco Industry Solutions on 01200 408 608 or email [email protected].
To apply to the fund, businesses must complete an online self-assessment form, available from the Find Business Support website https://findbusinesssupport.gov.scot/
Businesses will be reimbursed for the costs of pre-approved improvements once the application process is complete and verified receipts for work have been submitted and approved.
