In Person Meetings Set Up For Team Providing GP Services

A SERIES of in-person meetings is to take place between patients and the new team taking on the responsibility for providing GP services in Leadhills, Lockerbie and Moffat.

An invitation to attend public meetings in those three communities later this month follows a virtual session in February which introduced the new team and helped address initial questions about plans for GP services.

Linda Bunney is Head of Primary Care Services, and she said: “Over 120 people attended the virtual event on February 10, and at that time we mentioned the desire by the new GP team to meet with communities in person.
“We’re pleased to say that in-person meetings have been scheduled in Leadhills and Moffat on Monday March 28, and in Lockerbie on Tuesday March 29.
“Consideration has been given to COVID, and distancing, with people being asked to register that they would like to attend, and to identify which of the three locations best suits them.
“These meetings will offer a chance for the new team to meet patients in-person, as they look to continue to foster close links with the communities that they will be serving from these three locations as of April 1.”

The meetings will take place as follows:

  • at 6.30 pm on Monday 28 March in Moffat Academy School Hall
  • at 8.15 pm on Monday 28 March in Leadhills Hall

at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 29 March in Lockerbie Academy School Hall.

All meetings will be held with COVID-compliant spacing.

People who would like to attend are being asked to register first – stating which event they wish to attend and the numbers of people they are seeking to register

This can be done by emailing [email protected] , or by calling 01387 246246 and asking for the communications team.
