A sunny Sunday at Greenlaw, Near Castle Douglas saw the Stewartry under-16s take on Loch Lomond in the semi final of the West Youth U16 Plate.
Both teams were up for it from the off with the visitors getting the better of the early exchanges, the boys in black and red held them off with some fine defence plays and some good clearing kicks,
Stewartry started to make headway halfway through the first half with a converted try, Loch Lomond not to be out done got a try too.
Second half Stewartry had the wind at their backs and made the most of it, a further 2 tries and conversions left the visitors wanting, but credit to Loch Lomond who scored their second try in the dying minute.
A great day of rugby for both teams but onwards to the final for the mighty Stewartry.
