Annandale Sailing Club hosted the major youth sailing event which saw two days of close racing at all levels.
The competition was open to two single-handed dinghy classes – the Topper and the Optimist – and was split into a main fleet for experienced racers and a coached regatta fleet for novices.
More than 30 children, along with parents and friends, were welcomed by the club.
Weather conditions proved ideal, with a good breeze developing on both days, making life easier for Race Officers Chris Nurney and Richard Bryant and their teams, along with safety boat crews, headed up by David Richardson.
Commodore Elaine Ross said: “There was a real buzz around the club. It was lovely to see all the activity. It takes a lot of hard work to organise an event like this, which draws competitors from across Scotland, but a smile and a thank you from the young sailors makes it all worthwhile.”
Three of the club’s own young members – Breagha Johnstone, Murray Wilson and Thomas McKendrick – enjoyed their first experience of taking part in a large event, joining the Regatta fleet for coached racing.
