Nith Inshore Rescue Are On The Pull, To Raise Money For New Rescue Vehicle

On Saturday 21st May, a team from Nith Inshore Rescue will undertake the feat of pulling their Land Rover Defender (with no powered assistance other than breaking) from the Lifeboat Station, Glencaple via Kingholm Quay and Dock Park to Whitesands, Dumfries stopping in the car park opposite the Bank Restaurant and Coach & Horses, to raise funds towards a new rescue vehicle.

The event will begin at 10:00 and with the arrival anticipated between 12:00 and 13:00 (or
thereabouts). Various safety measures and a risk assessment are in place with support from Blood Bikes and trained members of the National Escort Group along with marshalls. Signage will also be in place.

We would ask drivers on the B725 Glencaple Road and B726 Kingholm Road to be alert for us and to exercise caution.

Money raised will go to our new vehicle fund. Donations are welcome via just giving www.justgiving.com/nithinshore-rescue and will also be welcomed by collectors en-route.

If you can donate or simply come and cheer us on we will be very grateful.
Photo opportunities for media friends will be available throughout the day.
