Road Policing Officers are appealing for information after a serious road crash on the A74(M) near to Beattock on Saturday, 9 July.
Around 1.40pm on Saturday afternoon, a 37-year-old man was driving a Mercedes C250 southbound, just south of J15 at Beattock, when it appears the vehicle lost control and came off the road.
Police and Ambulance attended and a 35-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the Mercedes was taken by Air Ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where hospital staff describe her condition as serious but stable.
The 37-year-old driver and two rear passengers aged 6 and 9 years did not require medical treatment.
Sergeant David Kerr of the Divisional Road Policing Unit from Castle Douglas Police Station said: “Enquiries are continuing into the cause of this crash. The road would have been busy at the time of the crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage who has not yet spoken to officers to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1735 of 9 July.”
