The Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright held another successful Cycle Sportive on Saturday 6th August.
Over 120 riders ranging from 18 to 70 years of age enjoyed cycling in dry, cloudy conditions around the Galloway countryside on the planned routes. There were long, medium and short routes all starting and ending in Kirkcudbright, and most of the riders completed their courses.
This was the 11 th year of the Annual Sportive which has so far raised over £40,000 and, as usual. this year the money raised will go to Cycling and Rotary Club Charities.
The Rotary Club would like to give special thanks to the Kirkcudbright Inner Wheel Club for providing homemade refreshments for the riders on their return, CD Cycles in Castle Douglas for donating raffle prizes, Tesco Kirkcudbright for food donations and the CatStrand in New Galloway for the loan of their car park.
