Musicians from across Dumfries & Galloway joined members of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra (SFO) for a Sunday lunchtime concert in The Gardens outdoor venue at Wigtown Book Festival.
The Fiddlers’ Fair attracted a large audience – who joined in with dancing and singing.
Among those taking part was Beth Porter, of The Bookshop Band, along with her baby Emmy Please.
Books are just the beginning at the annual festival (which runs until 2 October) which also stages dozens of events and activities including theatre, film, concerts, performance poetry, literary walks and much more.
The SFO was co-founded by the late John Mason MBE, who spent much of his youth in Wigtown and the surrounding area. Their concert of Saturday evening was the first time the SFO had performed in the area for 10 years.
The week ahead at the festival will see talks by bestselling author Shaun Bythell, sports commentator Andrew Cotter, Outlander star Graham McTavish, YA writer Sue Divin, journalist Chitra Ramaswamy and novelist Robert Harris.
