The historical Dumfries ‘Rood Fair’ is making a return to the Whitesands at the this week and weekend , D&G Council have road closures and diversions set in place ( Full info below). The fair itself runs from Wednesday the 28th September until Sunday the 2rd of October. (opening times – Wed to fri 6pm and sat/sun 1pm)
Temporary road closure A781 Whitesands (between Bank Street and Nith Street) and C202n (between Nith Street and St Michael’s Bridge Road) between 6pm on 26 September 2022 and 10pm on 2 October 2022.
Alternative Routes – Dockhead closed to northbound traffic – alternative route via St Michael’s Bridge Road, St Michael’s Street and Nith Street
Whitesands closed to southbound traffic between Bank Street and Nith Street – alterantive route via Bank Street, Irish Street and Nith Street
Emergency access will be available if required
Pedestrian access will be maintained
