Following the appointment of a brand new strategic partner, theSKYLAB, South Ayrshire Council are delighted to confirm that they are planning a brand new air show in 2023!
The new air show will now form part of a proposed calendar of events for 2023, which will be brought to a future Cabinet meeting for consideration. Set to be a spectacular day out for all the family, the proposed new air show is expected to be held in Ayr in autumn 2023.
South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, Councillor Alec Clark said: “The prospect of bringing a brand new air show to South Ayrshire in 2023 is extremely exciting, it would be a fantastic addition to our portfolio of events for 2023.
“We want to entice more tourists to the area and I’m positive a brand new air show could do just that.”
South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Sport and Leisure, Councillor Brian Connolly said: “Leisure plays a key role in South Ayrshire and it’s important that we have a range of events that locals and visitors can enjoy.
“The proposed brand new air show would definitely be a highlight on the leisure calendar for 2023.”
Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Martin Dowey said: “After further discussions with theSKYLAB, I’m delighted to announce that we will work with them to prepare a delivery plan for a proposed new air show, which we hope to bring to Ayr next year, along with a number of other events which will promote South Ayrshire as a fantastic destination.
“This is truly exciting news for the Council and people of South Ayrshire.”
