Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A76 at Bowhouse Roundabout from Thursday 3rd November until Tuesday 8th November 2022. This scheme has been rescheduled following its postponement earlier this year.
This scheme, with a value of £118,660, will benefit around 11,944 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The construction programme is as follows:
- From 8pm on Thursday 3rd November until 6am on Friday 4th November there will be an overnight road closure at this location with a signed diversion route in operation.
- There will be a full weekend closure in place from 8pm on Friday 4th November until 6am on Monday 7th November. The closure will be continuous with a signed diversion route in operation.
- A final overnight closure will be in place from 8pm on Monday 7th November until 6am on Tuesday 8th November. A signed diversion route will be in place during this time.
Diversion Information:
A76 northbound traffic will be diverted via the first exit at Crosshouse Roundabout on to the A719 southbound to the Sandyford Toll Roundabout. From here, traffic will take the third exit to join the A77 northbound to Bellfield Interchange. A76 southbound traffic will follow the same route but in reverse.
Please note: local access will only be permitted on the A76 between the Bowhouse Roundabout and Bellfield Interchange and between the Bowhouse Roundabout and the Crosshouse Roundabout. Access to HMP Kilmarnock will be maintained for the duration of these works via the B7303. All other B7303 traffic will be diverted north to the A71 to take local diversions to the east or west as required.
All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Tuesday 8th November 2022. We thank road users for their continued patience and cooperation during this time.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
