Two men have been arrested and charged after cannabis with an estimated street value of around £100,000 was discovered in a car on the A74(M) near Lockerbie.
Road policing officers stopped the VW Passat that was travelling northbound around 12.40pm on Thursday, 5 January, near to junction 17 of the motorway.
A search of the vehicle was carried out and the two men, aged 38 and 43, will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with drug and road traffic offences.
Sergeant David Kerr said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we will continue to take action against those involved in the supply of illegal substances.
“The support of the public is also vital in helping us to bring people responsible for the manufacture and supply of drugs. Anyone with information or concerns should call Police Scotland on 101 or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
