Organisers at the Loreburn Hall create new community bingo following the closure of Buzz Bingo in the town.
Dumfries Drag Queen, Tatty Von Haggis has stepped in to save the day by offering up the Loreburn Hall as a place to host a new series of Bingo games that will support the running costs of the Loreburn Hall.
A monthly bingo weekend will take place once a month on a Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, launching in April.
The new Dumfries Community Bingo will see bingo lovers playing for prizes while supporting the charity behind the Loreburn Hall. Each event will include a major prize winner.
The new project is part of the interim programme of events put in place by the Big Burns Supper team until September which includes 63 different events ranging from live music, jazz clubs and community dance sessions.
As well as regular Bingo, the programme includes the return of sell-out event Bonkers Bingo which returns on the 31st of March with top prizes like holidays to Spain.
Star of Le Haggis, Tatty Von Haggis said “I am getting sick of this; ma wee pals love the Bingo. If they shut anything else doo in this toon, we will need to put the words closing doon on the Dumfries sign coming in tae the toon.
Bingo is a great way to get out and meet people and have a bit of banter with each other. If I can raise a wee bit of money to cover my electric bills right noo, then even better” Dumfries Community Bingo starts on 15th and 16th April and Bonkers Bingo runs on 31st March. Players need to be over 18.
