Christmas voices will sing out across the region when Absolute Classics presents its December series to Dumfries and Galloway on a spectacular festive note.

Sopranos Katie Lowe and Dorothy King, Roberto Abate, tenor; and Douglas Nairn, bass, will perform a selection of Christmas music from Verdi, Puccimi and Wagner accompanied by the Absolute Classics Ensemble: Jennifer Redmond, piano; Zelda Hill, violin, and Alex McQuiston, cello.

This is a very rare chance to hear and experience four of the world’s finest voices performing together inside the decked halls of the region’s favourite venues.

This quartet of solo singers represent some of the best and most inspiring voices in today’s classical music industry and have performed to the highest acclaim in venues across the globe.
The programme includes Brindisi from Verdi’s La Traviata; Dich, teure halle from Tannhauser by Wagner; and Puccini’s O soave Fanciulla from La Boheme and O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi.
The series begins on Thursday, 11 December, at 7.30pm, when the performers play at the Buccleuch Centre, Langholm, and on Friday, 12 December, at 6.30pm, the performers move at Cavens Country House Hotel, Kirkbean, for an evening of song, drinks and three-course meal.
Saturday, 13 December, will be a spectacular Christmas concert at Greyfriars Church, Dumfries, when the singers and ensemble will be joined by the Chamber Choir of Dowdales. The event begins at 7.30pm.
The usual Sunday afternoon at the Buccleuch and Queensberry Hotel, Thornhill, part of the series takes place on 14 December at 3.30pm, where audiences can enjoy the experience of a sublime performance accompanied on the resident Blüthner piano.
Tickets are available on the door or online from Absolute Classics.
