Audiences in the Stewartry are in for a treat as SongWave Community Choir brings an eclectic mix of songs depicting love in all its glory to the region.
Titled Love is….: Songs of Love, Loss and Hope, the concert will include music from classic 1950s doo-wop to haunting ballads from the Georgian Caucasus and Croatian barbershop. The choir will explore love’s many dimensions, including its beauty, heartbreak and hope. They will also perform a range of Scots and Gaelic folk songs.
Led by the talented Kate Howard, the choir promises to deliver a captivating and heart-warming experience with their joyful a cappella performances.
“We’re thrilled to bring Songs of Love to our Summer Concerts in the Stewartry,” said the choir’s chairperson Jo Gallant. “The choir has been working hard to prepare for these concerts, and we’re excited to share our passion for music with the local community”.
The choir’s three concerts will take place at Kirkpatrick Durham Village Hall on Friday 23rd June at 7pm, Dalry Town Hall on Saturday 24th June at 4pm, and Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church on Sunday 25th June at 4pm. The cost is £8, which includes refreshments, and there are concessions available.
