Over 100 people from across Dumfries and Galloway attended an event in Dumfries hosted by the region’s largest social landlord to learn more about the range of support tenants are offered.
Wheatley Homes South, part of Wheatley Group, hosted its customer conference at Easterbrook Hall in the town on Tuesday 4 July.
As well as hearing about efforts across the region with repairs, investment in communities and tackling anti-social behaviour, tenants were able to find out more about the range of support services available to them as a Wheatley customer.
This ranges from food being provided through its Eatwell service, welfare benefits and fuel advice, free books for children through a partnership with the Dolly Parton Foundation, further education bursaries as well as jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.
Tenants were also invited to join Wheatley’s Customer Voice programme, which gives them a role in shaping the type of services offered in communities across the region.
Alan Glasgow, Managing Director of Wheatley Homes South, said: “Listening to our customers is key and it was great to see so many tenants attend our event from across the region to help us shape services.
“We know that for many, the last few years have been incredibly challenging. One of the main reasons for hosting this conference was to highlight to our customers the range of support that we offer them.
“Whether that is advice and support with the cost-of-living crisis, supporting tenants financially to access further education or to enter our apprenticeship schemes, we want to ensure all our customers know the full range of services available to them.
“If you are a Wheatley tenant and want to discuss the support we are able to offer you, get in touch with us. We are here to help.”
